Dealing with challenging behaviour at work

This event considers how and why some people exhibit challenging workplace behaviours, and explores strategies for the best way to handle these.

Psychologist Martin Smith, lecturer at Nottingham Trent University, will share his expertise, equipping delegates to feel more confident about what to do with colleagues who they find tricky to work with.

Claire Brook, Employment Law Partner at Aaron and Partners LLP, will share her experiences as an Employment Lawyer and particularly the Conduct vs Capability dilemma which many employers face when dealing with challenging behaviour.

Terry Duffy, an Acas Senior Adviser, will deliver best practice guidance for handling those “difficult conversations” using his own experiences as a workplace mediator to demonstrate learning.
