Mock Mediation

Level – Developing

Mediation is a powerful way of quickly resolving problems between employees.

Many people don’t know how mediation works in practice or how it can benefit their organisation.

During this event, Acas trainers will role-play  a mediation process, demonstrating the steps and also pausing for discussion. This will allow you to see how mediation works and how it could be applied within your organisation.

You will leave this session with a much better understanding of mediation and its benefits. You’ll also be better placed to explain mediation to others.

Mock Disciplinary hearing

Level – Developing

Conducting a disciplinary hearing can be daunting. The skills and knowledge managers need to carry out an effective hearing can often be difficult to learn on the job.

Managers who can run a hearing well will be best placed to maintain a working relationship with an employee whilst:

  • setting clear expectations
  • reducing conflict
  • creating a positive work and team environment
  • reducing the risk of legal action

During this mock disciplinary event, you’ll learn by watching the process in action as trainers role play an example disciplinary hearing. You’ll be able to ask questions throughout.

Mock Redundancy

Level – Developing

Making redundancies can be a daunting and potentially costly prospect. Employers are legally required to follow a fair process when making redundancies

At this interactive event, you will observe an employer navigating a fictional redundancy procedure for up to 19 employees.

We will explore the impact on the organisation and its people along the way.

Attending this mock redundancy will help you:

  • Avoid legal pitfalls
  • Apply good practice
  • Approach redundancy processes with more confidence
