Understanding and preventing stress in the workplace


Overview

An in-depth programme exploring signs and symptoms of workplace stress, responsibilities in relation to the HSE management standards (including recent developments of this model) and detailed guidance on the competencies required to effectively manage stress in the workplace.

Stress is commonly cited as one of the key reasons for sickness absence, impacting on the individual, the team and the wider organisation. Research has consistently shown that line managers play a key role in providing appropriate support to reduce the negative effects of workplace stressors.
