Recruitment, Selection and Interviewing Skills

Overview

Recruitment, Selection and Interviewing Skills

How to find and appoint the right employee.

Business need

Most employers recognize that employees are their greatest asset. A sound recruitment and selection procedure is vital for finding and employing the right skills and abilities for an advertised vacancy. Recruiting on this basis also helps avoid complaints of unlawful discrimination.

Getting it wrong can have a lasting impact on the business and the individual, and can lead to problems with customer relations, morale, absence, stress and the need to spend a great deal of time coaching and managing the individual.

This session is a step by step guide through vacancy identification, recruitment and selection of the new employee and includes practical input on the skills required to interview candidates effectively. Equal opportunities issues (including the 2010 Equality Act) will also be explored.
