Stress in the Workplace

Overview

Practical guidance that will help you understand the causes and recognise the signs of work related stress, allowing you to improve the resilience of your employees and minimise the impact of stress in your workplace.

Business need

Stress and its relationship with anxiety and depression is a growing concern in the workplace today. Recent evidence suggests that two out of five employees suffer from work related stress. In 2015/16, work related stress accounted for 37% of work related ill health and 45% of working days lost.

Unsurprisingly, surveys have revealed that stress results in lower productivity for affected businesses. It can also make it difficult to retain staff, leading to increased training and recruitment costs.

Delegates attending this event will learn the physical, behavioural and psychological impact of stress, what they can do as an employer to manage stress, including the key components of the HSE stress management standards.

All delegates will receive an electronic certificate of attendance for their participation in the training.
