Working effectively with trade unions

Overview

This full day event will provide delegates with an in-depth look at the often complex legislation surrounding working with trade unions and the implications for employers, as well provide best practice guidance on building and maintaining working relationships.

Business need

In today’s world change is a constant, and how it is handled determines how successful we are at implementation. In a unionised environment, this can be more challenging because procedures need to be followed, however it can also be an opportunity to consider another point of view and an opportunity to stimulate innovative problem solving when handled well.

Delegates attending this event will gain an understanding of:

  • the roles and rights of trade unions
  • the routes that trade unions can pursue to achieve recognition
  • the legislative requirements surrounding industrial action
  • an employer’s legal obligation to consult (TUPE and redundancy)
  • building personal and organisational capability to foster positive industrial relations
  • the options available for collective disputes resolution
All delegates will receive an electronic certificate of attendance for their participation in the training.

Suitable For

Delegates from all sectors of industry including: managers, HR professionals, business owners, Trade Union representatives, employee representatives and individuals who wish to enhance their CPD.
