This interactive in-depth Masterclass will feature:

Programme

The Masterclass will be chaired by Malcolm Boswell, West Midlands Area Director. Our interactive sessions include:

  • Keynote speech - Susan Clews, Acas Chief Executive

    Susan will explore the changing landscape of employment relations and what Acas’ priorities are within that
  • Mental Health in the workplace – Abigail Hirshman, Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing

    Abigail was key in developing the Acas Mental Health guidance She will draw on her significant experience in the field to highlight the importance of mental health in the workplace, along with practical steps to assist staff wellbeing
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements – Jug Sahota, Equality and Diversity adviser and Dave Wait, Conciliation Manager

    Addressing a topic that is currently sparking discussion, Jug and Dave discuss the legalities and ethics of NDAs, along with our experience of their use in conciliation
  • Conflict Resolution – Pat Hicks and Jane Wilson, Acas Senior Advisers and Mediators

    Mediation experts, Pat and Jane will speak about how adopting conflict resolution approaches can create healthy and productive long-term working relationships. They also explore the options available when informal approaches aren’t successful
  • Inclusive Recruitment and Flexible Working – Emma Slaven and Maggie Steven, Acas Senior Advisers

    Beyond the theory of why inclusive recruitment and flexible working should be promoted, Emma and Maggie draw on their expertise to focus on what actually works, along with best practice advice
