Supporting bereaved employees: the law and good practice - digital event
Overview
This 3 hour digital event is based on Acas’ updated bereavement guidance.
We will provide insight into the law and good practice, including writing a bereavement policy. We will also cover practical advice for managers on supporting your employees during this difficult time.
Business need
Sue Ryder estimates bereavement in the workplace costs the economy nearly £23 billion a year. At any time, one in 10 employees are likely to be affected by bereavement (McGuinness, 2009).
Are you aware of what employees are legally entitled to when they experience bereavement? Do some types of bereavement, such as parental bereavement, carry a right to time off?
Delivered via Zoom, this event will use a range of engaging delivery methods to ensure you understand the legal duties of employers and the actions you can take, as a manager or business, to support bereaved staff.
All delegates will receive an electronic certificate of attendance for their participation in the training
Suitable For
Delegates from all sectors of industry including: managers, supervisors, team leaders, HR professionals, business owners, Trade Union representatives, employee representatives and individuals who wish to enhance their CPD.
