Care and compassionate leave: Employer responsibilities

Overview

A 2021 Government consultation found that there was a lack of clarity and awareness around leave entitlements, particularly in caring and compassionate circumstances.

Join Acas and leading experts from Carers UK and Cruse/Untangle as we discuss upcoming workforce trends and challenges surrounding leave, the new Carers Leave Act and explore best practice for compassionate leave.

Business Need

Carers UK cite that each day, over 600 people leave their jobs to provide care for others.

Many employees’ resort to using annual leave or sick leave for circumstances such as caring responsibilities and bereavement. This can have far-reaching implications on employee wellbeing, productivity, and staff retention.

This event will provide you with an understanding of the law and best practice around caring and compassionate leave – enabling you to enhance leave policies, employee wellbeing and productivity within your workplace.
