Certificate in internal workplace mediation (CIWM)
|
Overview
This course provides training and accreditation for you to:
- Become an internal mediator in your workplace
- Gain accreditation if you are already a workplace mediator
- Develop better conflict management and interpersonal skills for day to day relationship management
The course consists of 5 units and will take place over 5 days.
The training runs from 09:30 - 16:30 each day and the dates are:
- 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th January 2025
Business Need
Differences between individuals at work can lead to lack of focus on the job, grievances, absences, loss of valuable employees and sometimes Employment Tribunal claims. The cost in terms of time, money and stress on managers and employees is considerable. Mediators work with those in conflict to help them find and agree their own solutions.
Delivered via Zoom, this training course is accredited by NCFE, a trusted and recognised awarding organisation, so the certificate gained meets a consistent standard. The training and delegate assessment are externally verified by NCFE and quality assured. Successful delegates will be awarded the Acas Certificate in Internal Workplace Mediation.
Suitable For
Managers at all levels, Human Resource professionals, In-company lawyers, employees, employee representatives, Trade Union representatives and anyone interested in managing conflict more effectively in their workplace.
N.B. This course is not suitable for delegates who plan to work as freelance mediators outside of their own workplace.
Programme
Our expert-led training sessions are designed to facilitate discussion and interaction. This event will cover:
The course includes the nature of workplace conflict, when workplace mediation is and is not appropriate, skills, strategies, behaviours and knowledge needed to be an effective workplace mediator as well as management and evaluation of the mediation process.
Delegates are assessed through their performance in role play activity and by their written responses to 5 questions based on the five units of the course. Responses must be sent to their tutor no later than 8 weeks after receiving the questions.
