Neurodiversity in the workplace: a masterclass

Overview

Join us at this important event, where Acas and key speakers will be exploring neurodiversity and considering what employers can do to improve inclusivity, support and psychological safety for employees.

We will be discussing how employers can embrace the different ways in which people work and learn, respond to new situations and overcome obstacles.

We will also examine how employers can improve communication and engagement with neurodiverse employees and make reasonable adjustments to improve productivity.

Business Need

It is estimated that around 1 in 7 of the UK population are neurodivergent, meaning that they learn and processes information differently.  Neurodivergence includes conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia.

Employers of all sizes and across all industries are likely to employ or work with neurodiverse people.

Recognising people’s strengths and understanding that they might work in different ways, whilst also having managers skilled in getting the best out of employees, is beneficial for business.

This event will also discuss the employers’ duty of care, the rights of employees and relevant legislation.
