Conflict at work and how to disagree well: a masterclass

Training Session

Differences of opinion are a normal part of working life and, when managed well, can lead to better decisions and stronger working relationships. However, if disagreement is ignored or handled poorly, it can develop into conflict that can impact wellbeing, performance and trust at work.

This masterclass brings together Acas experts with leading guest speakers to explore:
  • common causes of conflict
  • managing conflict at an early stage
  • encouraging open and respectful discussion and disagreement
  • the legal and practical limitations of informal conflict resolution

Business Need

Acas Research conducted in 2021 found that workplace conflict costs UK businesses approximately £28.5 billion per year - the equivalent of more than £1,000 per employee.

Early and effective management of conflict can reduce the risk of issues escalating, lower the likelihood of formal processes, and protect trust, wellbeing and productivity.

With mediation and conflict resolution experts, employer case studies and the latest research, we will help you to develop a clearer understanding of how to encourage open and respectful discussion, how to challenge views constructively, and how to navigate difficult conversations with greater confidence.

Attend this event to get important advice as well as practical tips and takeaways to use in your workplace.
