Employers must ensure workers are paid correctly in accordance with the law. Breach of contract and unlawful deduction claims can be costly.
By getting pay wrong you risk:

This training will make sure you are up to date with the latest legislation and good practice. It will help you understand the rules around pay and deductions and ensure your approach is both compliant and fair.
Who is this best suited to?
Developing level courses will help you build skills and gain a working knowledge of everyday employment principles and procedures. This training is aimed at people with basic knowledge or experience in the topic, but this is not essential.
Having a general understanding of wages and pay will help you get the most out of the event.

- the law and good practice on pay
- deductions and when they can be lawfully made
- statutory rights to payment, including sick pay, National Minimum Wage and holiday pay
- payslips – what they must include

- apply the main legislation relating to pay
- identify deductions which can lawfully be made
- apply good practice in making deductions
- explain the law relating to additional payments such as bonuses, commission and tips
